A computer emulator is a software or hardware that allows one computer system (called the host) to behave like another computer system (called the guest). This allows the host computer to run software or use peripherals that were designed for the guest computer. Emulators are often used to run older software or games on newer computers, or to run software on a different type of computer than it was originally designed for.
