Hollywood Studios is a theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks, Experiences and Products division. Based on the history of Hollywood, the park opened on May 1, 1989, as Disney-MGM Studios. Following a major expansion in the early 2000s, the park was renamed Disney’s Hollywood Studios on January 1, 2008.
The park is themed after the Golden Age of Hollywood and features attractions based on films and television shows from that era. Major attractions include Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. In addition to its rides and attractions, Hollywood Studios also offers a variety of dining and shopping options.
